NuWay-K&H Cooperative’s strip-till services enhance your soil health and crop yields by combining precise nutrient placement with efficient tillage, ensuring your ground is ready for a more profitable and sustainable season.

Struggling with soil health and crop yields?

Facing issues like nutrient loss, compacted soil, or lower yields? These challenges can prevent your fields from reaching their full potential. By using techniques that enhance soil structure and optimize nutrient placement, you can improve water retention, reduce runoff, and increase yield potential. Addressing these issues can help your land thrive, ensuring a more productive and sustainable farming season.

"The Strip-Till Difference"

Strip-till is a sustainable farming practice that boosts soil health and crop yields by precisely placing nutrients where they’re needed most while minimizing soil disturbance. By only tilling narrow strips where crops are planted, this method conserves moisture, reduces erosion, and enhances nutrient uptake. The result? Healthier soil, stronger plants, and better harvests—all while promoting sustainable land management.

As sustainability programs and carbon markets continue to grow, strip-tillage offers an easy way to get involved. These programs often provide financial incentives for carbon sequestration and lowering carbon intensity, meaning switching to strip-till practices can help you earn money while benefiting the environment!

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Your Most Common Questions About Strip-Till and Our Services

Strip-till farming is a conservation tillage method that disturbs only the soil where the seed row will be placed, promoting soil health and sustainability.

Benefits include decreased production costs, improved water management, earlier planting opportunities, enhanced weed control, and increased yield potential.

No, strip-till isn’t one-size-fits-all. It works best on certain fields based on soil type, weather, and farm goals.

Fields that are well-drained with minimal slope are ideal for strip-till. It’s particularly effective in areas with consistent soil moisture and fields that benefit from reduced soil compaction. Fields prone to erosion or with heavy residue can also be good candidates, as strip-till helps manage these challenges while improving soil structure.

Yes, strip-till can support sustainability through better soil health and opportunities in carbon capture programs. These programs often provide financial incentives for carbon sequestration and lowering carbon intensity, meaning switching to strip-till practices can help you earn money while benefiting the environment!

We use a Soil Warrior 4500:

  • 25-30 horsepower; depends on soil type, moisture, row unit, amount and type of fertilizer and previous tillage practice
  •  3 dry fertilizer tanks with ten tons total capacity (130, 60, 130 bushels per tank)
  • Variable Rate Technology
  • Active implement guidance
  • The Soil Warrior ISOBUS Control Module (SWICM), Powered by Raven. The SWICM is a versatile and user-friendly rate controller that can be installed on any SoilWarrior. It is compatible with most ISOBUS displays, allowing the operator to utilize their existing precision technology.
