Plotting for Success: Choosing the Right Hybrids Before Harvest

by: Brad Henning, Seed Director

As the summer months fly by, harvest will soon be right around the corner which means now is the perfect time to start (or continue) evaluating corn hybrids and soybean varieties for the 2026 planting season. Of course, yield remains the number one goal when selecting products for your operation. But it’s just as important to understand the characteristics of each hybrid or variety to ensure it’s the right fit for your farm — and gives you the best opportunity to maximize yield potential.

To help you get a better sense of both the characteristics and yield potential of new and key hybrids, NuWay-K&H has three corn plots established this growing season in Jackson, St. James, and Sleepy Eye. Each plot features the same 18 hybrids, allowing for direct comparison across locations. We’ve also been fortunate to secure units of pre-commercial launch products for evaluation at a larger scale than typical test plots — giving you and your NuWay-K&H Account Managers an opportunity to see how these new products perform in real-world field conditions.

If you’d like to tour any of these plots or check out side-by-side comparisons, please reach out to your Agronomy Account Manager or contact me directly at
